Treat those who are good with goodness. Also treat those who are not good with goodness. That is how goodness is obtained. – Lao Tzu.
Here’s how the universe works — I needed to read this today. I didn’t know that, but when I saw it on a friend’s Facebook wall, I realized that I needed it. It was indirectly meant for me.
So, it’s today’s Happy Quote. Hopefully it will reach someone else who needs it.
And now, just to make the day happier — a baby fox!
Yay, baby foxxxxxxxxxxx!
I try – but I’m constantly working against my natural tendency to be grumpy (I have had CFS for 24 years, and I’m pretty exhausted, in pain, and brain fogged – among other things – all the time). But I do TRY.
Adorable baby fox.
Thank you for the post and what a cute little thing!
Trying matters a lot. If, just once a day, you could stop yourself and say, “I won’t be grumpy this time,” then give yourself the freedom to live your natural tendencies the rest of the day, you will still be making huge changes.
Oh, lots more than once a day. That’s not the problem. The problem is achieving permanent change, which I don’t think will happen.
I will be ‘me’ – happier me – but me forever. This is not a bad thing, but I sometimes envy those who are genuinely cheerful or genuinely happy by nature. They are a gift to the world.
I am content as long as I see and take the opportunity to change my behavior when the incidents of non-happy happen; that is hard earned, and valuable in itself.
That’s where your book helps – for those of us who are NOT native speakers.
